TL;DR

  • Creating 3D animation as a beginner is now easy with animation softwares like Animaker, which uses AI to speed up the process.
  • Typing a prompt, answering a few follow-up questions from AI, and customizing the video settings is all it takes to generate a fully animated 3D video with Animaker.
  • You can even edit the generated video to have more creative control over the output.

When you think of 3D animation, what comes to your mind depends on who you are.

If you’re an experienced animator, your brain would immediately think of tools, rigs, keyframes, and all the technical aspects of it.

But if you’re an interested beginner, those same things can feel overwhelming

Complex interfaces, countless settings, and rendering can make the gap between having an idea and creating it feel much bigger and impossible to cross.

But don’t worry!

Animaker can easily bridge that gap.

Animaker is primarily an online animation software, now packed with AI-powered capabilities. Its GenAI features speed up 3D animation creation, making it a go-to choice for quick, easy animation.

So, in this article, we are going to show you

Let’s begin and make some 3D animation!

How to make 3D animation with Animaker?

To make a 3D animation with Animaker, these are four simple steps you need to follow -

Step 1: Register/Log in

Step 2: Make a 3D animation video with AI

Step 3: Advance Edit

Step 4: Download the video

Let’s begin!

Step 1: Register/Log in

Go to Animaker’s page and register if you’re new, or log in if you’re already a user.

Once you are in, Animaker’s dashboard looks like this -

It has an AI prompt box, the AI templates right below it, and many more options on the left.

Step 2: Make a 3D animation video with AI

Click on Others > Gen AI

This opens the categories window, where you can choose from multiple use cases. For this article, I am going to create a training video on warehouse safety protocols.

After selecting the relevant category, enter the prompt and click Generate Video

Animaker’s AI will start analyzing your prompts and, in some categories, will ask follow-up questions if it picks up on details in your prompts.

Next, customize the AI video settings. Here, you can choose the video style (3D in this case since that’s what we wish to create), duration, dimensions, voice-over, captions, and more.

Once you choose the settings and answer the AI’s questions, click on Proceed to Next

The AI will start building the video, and within a couple of minutes, the video will be ready.

You can preview the video right away. If you like the output, you can download it easily from here. You can then skip to this part.

Or if you prefer to add a few details and tweak the video, click on the Advance Edit option.

Step 3: Advance edit

So far, we saw how to make 3D animation with Animaker's Agent Max. This is the step where you can have creative control over the output.

When you click on the Advance Edit option, it will take you to the editing window.

This is the interface of the animaker application. The workspace is at the center, scenes on the right, and the timeline at the bottom. The library is on the left, which contains all the assets you can use in your video.

For example, if you’re creating a 2D-style video, you can add characters from the Characters section. You can also add properties, shapes, charts, and other elements from their respective sections.

Check out this video tutorial for a deeper understanding of the options in the library -

For this training video example, I want to edit/add a few things -

  1. Text box
  2. Delete a scene
  3. Swap music

Let’s see how to do these.

1. Text box

Let’s say I want to add a text box to one particular scene. To do this, first click on the scene you want to add the element to. Then click on the Text icon from the library.

Clicking this will open a side panel with two text options: Plain and Pre-built.

Plain text boxes give you a blank canvas to design from scratch, while Pre-built options come with ready-made designs, fonts, and animation effects.

Choose the text box you want and add it to your scene. Position it where you want, then replace the default text with your own. You can even edit the text settings like font, size, line spacing, and more on the left.

You can also control when the text appears and disappears by adjusting its duration on the scene timeline.

The highlighted part denotes the text duration, and the lighter part denotes when the animated effects on the element appear.

Note: The overall timeline gives you a view of the entire video, including all your scenes and their durations. The scene timeline, on the other hand, lets you manage the elements within an individual scene and control how long each element appears.

Similarly, you can add more elements to the scenes and adjust their duration in the timeline.

2. Delete a scene

If you’re not happy with a scene and wish to remove it from the video, click on the three dots on the particular scene tile on the right.

This will show three options: Add Scene, Duplicate, Delete.

Here, simply click on Delete, and the scene is removed from the video.

3. Swap music

Now what if you want to change the music that the AI had added to the generated video? Maybe it does not quite match the vibe of the video.

Don’t worry - it is very easy to swap it.

First, pull up the Overall Timeline to delete the already present music track by clicking on the three dots and selecting Delete.

Then, open the music library and, from thousands of free tracks, choose one that fits the vibe. When you click on the track, it gets added to the video.

Note: The music gets added from where the playhead is on the timeline.

Step 4: Download the video

Once you have edited the video, click on Preview to see how the video has turned out.

If everything is A-OK click on Publish > Download Video to download the 3D animation that you just made.

Then, click on Download.

The video gets rendered, and you can download it to your device from the Exports page.

And….voila!

You just saw how to make 3D animation and a quick way at that, using Animaker’s AI!

But before you start creating, there are a few things you should know to get the best output.

Tips for better 3D animation outputs

While AI makes 3D animation creation faster and easier, there are a few practices that can help you get more polished results. Here are a few such tips -

  • Plan the structure of the video first. Know your beginning, middle, and end before generating the full 3D animated video.
  • When prompting, include specific details like camera angle, lighting, and characters.
  • Make sure to not overcrowd the scenes to maintain consistency.
  • Fine-tune the scenes after the 3D animation generation.
  • Check scene transitions to make sure each scene connects naturally and doesn't feel like individual clips.
  • Add AI subtitles to your videos to make them globally accessible.

Final Takeaway

Creating 3D animation does not have to be as complicated as it once was.

With AI-powered tools like Animaker, even beginners can make professional-looking 3D animations.

Our AI takes care of much of the heavy lifting, while the editing interface gives you the flexibility to fine-tune the generated output.

So, if you’ve been wondering how to make 3D animation without the complexities, give Animaker a try and start creating.
